If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things. -Rene Descartes
Where did the idea for The Mobile Observatory Project come from?
The Suspicious0bservers YouTube channel was created by Ben in 2011 to provide a short daily summary and analysis on the following topics: heliophysics, astrophysics, seismology, earth's magnetism, and more - all by 6:30AM EST!
See his background here.
2014 came around and the channel was growing; he convinced his wife Kat to leave her job in the financial industry to help manage The Mobile Observatory Project: turning an RV into a Mobile Observatory, traveling across the U.S. and Canada on tour, doing educational outreach and research at schools, museums and public venues.

They purchased the base RV, a 2002 Bounder themselves, and a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign with 870 sponsors helped with the retrofit and journey (Thank you MOP Sponsors!).
The husband and wife team (and their dogs) have traveled
20,000+ miles to 40 states and 4 provinces, with over 75 events in 8 months!
Between the morning news, driving several hours a day, scheduling events, filling up the MOP and speaking/presenting, it was a nonstop adventure. They wrapped up in February 2015 to put The Mobile Observatory into storage to get ready for their new role: parents!
Although no longer on the road (for now), the projects continued on:
